The Ministry of Youth Affairs (MoYA) is taking steps to join hands with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and civil society for the welfare and development of the country's youth. This was stated by Secretary MoYA Nazar Muhammad Maher while presiding over a meeting, held here Monday. The meeting discussed in detail the annual working plan.

Secretary MoYA, while welcoming the participants of UNFPA, hoped that partnership with UNFPA would go a long way in pursuing different programmes for youth's welfare. It was said in the meeting that the goal of the 7th Country Plan of UNFPA is to "improve status of the people of Pakistan, leading towards population stabilisation and sustainable human development".

The meeting also discussed the plan activities including supporting NGOs for policy advocacy initiatives on SRH issues of the youth, technical assistance to set up a Technical Support Unit for the Youth Activity Centre, and take leading role in co-ordination and collaboration and policy and advocacy programs, on youth issues.
